Fees Policy and Guidelines
- Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to define the publication fee structure, payment methods, and waiver provisions for manuscripts submitted to the PIMA Journal of Health Sciences (PIMA JHS). The policy promotes transparency, fairness, and consistency in all financial transactions related to publication (1,2).
- Scope
This policy applies to all national and international authors submitting manuscripts to PIMA JHS. It also guides the Editorial and Administrative staff managing publication-related payments (1,3).
- Responsibility
- Chief Editor: Approves and oversees all fee-related policies.
- Financial Editor: Ensures proper fee collection, record keeping, and financial reporting.
- Managing Editor: Verifies receipt of payments before proceeding with publication.
- Authors: Responsible for prompt payment and submission of proof of payment during manuscript submission.
- Policy Details
4.1 Fee for Publication
A publication fee of PKR 20,000 (twenty thousand only) shall be charged per accepted manuscript (1).
4.2 Currency and International Payments
All payments must be made in Pakistani Rupees (PKR). Any bank charges related to international transactions shall be borne by the author (1,4).
4.3 Payment Method
All payments shall be made via bank transfer to the official PIMA JHS account. Authors must retain and upload proof of payment with their submission (3).

4.4 When to pay fee
The fee payment evidence is not required at the time of initial manuscript submission. It will only be needed once the manuscript has successfully passed all review stages and is formally accepted for publication.
4.5 Fee Waiver
The Editorial Board may grant full or partial fee waivers on a case-by-case basis, especially for authors from resource-limited settings or for invited manuscripts (2,5).
4.6 Fee Refund Policy
The publication fee is non-refundable. If a manuscript is withdrawn after payment, no refund will be issued (1,3).
- Policy Review and Revision
This policy shall be reviewed every three years or as deemed necessary by the Editorial Board to ensure compliance with institutional, ethical, and financial standards (1,2).
