After the online submission of a manuscript along necessary documents, the manuscript undergoes the following workflow:

  1. Initial Submission Screening
  • Process:
    The editors evaluate the submission for:
    • Relevance to the journal’s scope.
    • Overall quality.
  • Timeline: 2 weeks.
  • Outcome:
    • Articles failing to journal’s scope, and guidelines or relevance are rejected.
    • Eligible submissions proceed to the next stage.

  1. Plagiarism and Ethical Compliance Check
  • Process:
    The assistant editors and operational & technical support team ensures plagiarism and ethical compliance:
    • Plagiarism and Artificial Intelligence (AI) checks.
    • Verification of ethics approval.
    • Registration of clinical trials in appropriate registries.
    • Assurance of patient consent and confidentiality.
    • Disclosure of conflicts of interest.
    • Completeness of required documents
  • Timeline: 2 weeks.
  • Outcome:
    • Articles failing plagiarism or ethical compliance checks are rejected or returned for revision.
    • Compliant articles advance to peer review.

 

  1. Peer Review
  • Process:
    The manuscript is sent to two subject-matter experts for evaluation in a double-blind review process. Reviewers assess:
    • Originality and significance.
    • Study design and methodology.
    • Quality of results and discussion.
  • Timeline: Minimum 4 weeks (depending on reviewer availability and feedback).
  • Outcome:
    • Accepted: With or without minor revisions.
    • Rejected: Due to significant flaws or irrelevance.
    • Returned for Revisions: Major or minor changes required before re-evaluation.
  1. Statistical Review
  • Process:
    A biostatistician reviews the statistical analysis for accuracy, relevance, and adherence to reporting standards.
  • Timeline: 2 weeks.
  • Outcome:
    • Manuscripts with inadequate statistical methods may require re-analysis or clarification.

 

  1. Formatting and Referencing Review
  • Process:
    The assistant editors and operational & technical support team ensure compliance with journal-specific formatting and referencing policies, including:
    • Verification of high-quality images, tables, and figures.
    • Language and grammar refinement through copyediting.
    • Correct citation and referencing style.
  • Timeline: 2 weeks.
  • Outcome:
    • Articles not meeting these standards are returned to authors for correction.

 

  1. Final Editorial Decision
  • Process:
    The Chief Editor or Associate Chief Editor make the final decision after all revisions and reviews.
  • Timeline: 2 weeks.
  • Outcome:
    • Manuscripts meeting all criteria are accepted.
    • Manuscripts failing to meet standards are rejected.

 

  1. Pre-Publication Proofing
  • Process:
    operational & technical support team sent the accepted manuscripts to authors for proofing to ensure:
    • Content accuracy.
    • Correct figures, tables, and author details.
    • Minor formatting adjustments.
  • Timeline: 2 weeks.
  • Outcome:
    • Final approval for publication is granted.

 

  1. Publication and Final Fees
  • Process:
    • Once all filters are passed, the manuscript is scheduled for publication.
    • Authors are charged a publication fee of Rs. 20,000 (twenty thousand rupees).
    • A provisional timeline and issue details are provided.
